Country facing political instability since its creation: Birjees Tahir

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Chaudhry Birjees Tahir on Tuesday said the incumbent government had presented the "sound" budget amid the political uncertainty.

Expressing his thoughts, Mr Tahir said, "I heard that this nation would go bankrupt and turn into Sri Lanka. But, the budget for the fiscal year 2023-24 is the best one, considering the country's situation."

Believing the country was facing political instability since its creation, Mr Tahir said, "Country's first premier Liaquat Ali Khan was assassinated. Maulvi Tamizuddin's Constituent Assembly was also dissolved".

Earlier today, Qaiser Ahmad Sheikh, the chairman of the NA's standing committee said the miscreants responsible for the vandalism on May 9 should be brought to justice.

Mr Sheikh organised a rally in support of the army, and a sizable number of residents attended. The slogans in support of the army were chanted by the rally attendees.

Speaking about the events that transpired on May 9, Mr Sheikh said he decried the May 9 violence.
